1. The Cocktail Dress
I'm not a huge fan of Adesagi Kierana. But, I saw his collection last season and i felt kind of, um, amazed, and kind of, um, bored. OOPP! His collection's colors are so colorful! neon magenta with dark navy ribbon, piles of candy cane striped taffeta and tulle, bumblebee yellow with a smattering of polka dots. If these little cocktail dresses were cast out into the wild, their warning colors could outdo any poison dart frog. hahaha. Match the vibrant 80's esque cocktail dresses with towering metallic platform peep-toes and the looks found on Adesagi's catwalk at Jakarta Fashion Week earlier this month are sure to draw in the bravest of couture-wearing devotees!
OH IF ONLY THE SUPER MARIO CREW COULD SEE THIS!!! It's as if an entire collection was built with a grown-up Toadette as it's muse. when you take a closer look at Lenny Agustin latest collection presented at Jakarta Fashion Week last month, you'll notice extraordinary pleating and expertise embroidery affirming the designer's Indonesian artisan roots:
''Through my designs, I would like to introduce back to the younger generation Indonesian traditional cloths from various provinces as casual wear. The younger generation should be proud of the richness of Indonesian artcraft.''- www.LennyAgustin.com
Even if you're not quite gutsy enough to go the full outfit, the garments' elements (embroidered obi sashes, Murakami-esque flower brooches, disco-ready platform booties) can be easily integrated into a more, um, modest wardrobe. but sorry to say, once again, im not a huge fan of those collection!! let's just be honest, would you wear that dress to go to the mall or your school? um. no need to answer. i already know. but those heels remind me of some heels in, argh, I forget. never mind.
